Electric Sewing Center / Bookmark Booklight Project

Electric sewing, or e-textiles, means combining fabric and electronics like LED lights and microcontrollers, which are tiny computers that can be programmed (or not) to control the lights.

Bookmark Booklight Project - Design and make a bookmark that lights up so you can read at night!  You can search the clipart illustrations on Pixabay for inspiration.

The Sew Electric website has 2 free tutorials for making either a bookmark book light or a sparkling bracelet.  More tutorials and project ideas can be found in the "Sew Electric" book.

Electric Sewing Project Choices

1. Bookmark Booklight

Design and make a bookmark that lights up so you can read at night!  You can search the clipart illustrations on Pixabay for inspiration.

2. Light-Up Bracelet or Armband

Design and make a bracelet or armband that lights up, flashes, or twinkles!  Your design can be anything with 1 or 2 LED lights.
