Your Project

In our fairy tale unit, we have learned that fairy tales are stories which are told and retold.  They are part of a community's oral tradition.

All these retellings change a story.  Now, when we read a fairy tale, it might not sound anything like other versions of the same story.

In this project:

  1. You and your class will listen to a version of the fairy tale, Cinderella.
  2. You will choose another version to listen to or to read.
  3. When you have read/heard both stories, you will compare them.
  4. Then you will learn about the culture that your version of Cinderella comes from and think about how the culture might have changed the story.
