Assignment #2

Choose from one of the following National Parks:

  1. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

  2. Zion National Park

  3. Olympic National Park

  4. Grand Teton National Park

  5. Glacier National Park

  6. Theodore Roosevelt National Park

  • As a group come up with the Top 10 Reasons people should visit your park.

  • You must use World Book Online and a book (minimum) to find out information and Pixabay for photos.

  • Create a 5 minute presentation for the class but you may not use Google Slides or Powerpoint.

  • Note your sources because you will be creating a bibliography once we have a lesson on "How to Cite your sources."

 

Assignment #1

Choose from one of the following National Parks:

  1. Yosemite

  2. Rocky Mountain

  3. Death Valley

  4. Denali

  5. Hawaii Volcanoes

  6. Everglades

  • As a group come up with 3 or more different questions per person that you would like to find the answers for but also would make someone want to visit your park.

  • Use World Book Online and books first to try to find out the answers to your questions.

  • Combine the information that you found out to make a 5 minute presentation for the class.

  • Give credit to your sources.

 

Example Questions to gather information about

  1. Where is the location of the Park?

  2. Is this a Park that someone can camp and/or hike at? Tent/Camper?

  3. Is there an entrance fee to the Park?

  4. Is there a place to get food and drinks and other supplies at the Park?

  5. Is there a good time of year to visit or a bad time to avoid visiting?
